Buck’n the System just sounded like a fun title, especially since the artwork has bucks as a theme.

I’ve printed about 25 of each of these hand-pulled original Intaglio prints that have been enhanced with watercolor to create a more interesting composition.

I had been informed that Munsey and Boda would stop climbing tree’s when they reached 12 months of age. Well, I can tell you that this isn’t the case with Munsey and Boda!

This is Munsey climbing a fairly small tree on June 26th, 2018! In August Munsey and Boda will be 3 1/2 years old and they are still climbing trees!

Munsey is about 820 lbs at this time. It’s hard to believe that a bear can manage to move that amount of weight right up a tree!

As you can see, this tree isn’t very large and I know that I’d heard a number of branches cracking as Munsey began to desend back to Earth!

It takes careful footing for Munsey to figure out where to place his weight as he makes his downward journey to the ground.
This selection of photographs were taken on my birthday. I spent about an hour watching Munsey and Boda relaxing in the JP Adler Kodiak Bear Habitat area and then splash around in the pond located in the Bear Woods. Munsey’s weight is about 760 lbs. and Boda’s weight is about 840 lbs.

If your in the mood for watch Munsey and Boda climbing 30 plus feet into the tree tops, check out this video taken in June 2017!
Boda is the bear highest in the tree tops with Munsey just beneath his brother.

I’ve created dance themed artwork to honor my families love of dance! My father is a graduate from Arthur Murray School for Ballroom Dance in Chicago. So my parents were avid Ballroom Dancers. My daughter Katherine is a former student of Main Street Conservatory of Dance. She is also a former Dance Choreographer for the Wisconsin State 4-H Showcase Singers. So the art of dancing has always been in my blood!

These items can be purchased at the Marshfield Mercantile located at 355 S. Central Ave. Marshfield, WI. on Saturday Dec.16 from 11:00 am- 5:00 pm.

I began documenting the Kodiak bear cubs through photography in October of 2015 at the Grand Opening of the JP Adler Kodiak Bear Exhibit. Since October 2015, I’ve taken thousands of photographs and have begun charting the growth and development of the bears using a graphing format. This information along with the photographs is used when I’m writing my blog and books and is also shared with the zoo staff at Wildwood Zoo.
